New Delhi: Delhi government is planning to introduce a common travelling card for the Delhi Metro and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses soon.
Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai in a statement said that ‘a common mobility card will be introduced in 2016, which the passengers can use to travel on both the Metro and DTC buses.’
The minister added that the Delhi government would buy 3,775 e-ticketing machines (ETMs) for the purpose.
According to reports, government will buy around 500 midi-buses to ensure last-mile connectivity and install CCTV cameras and Wi-Fi on DTC buses.
The government also plans to run 1,000 buses under the cluster system from April-May.
Also, 1,000 air-conditioned low-floor buses will start plying from August.
