New Delhi (Anish Yande): On the opening bell on Friday, Sensex opened at 100 points higher than the previous day's close. Nifty 50 was in the green, reaching 12,844.85 before declining slightly. Nifty Auto and Nifty Bank rose by 0.6 percent. Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap were up by half a percent. The metal and IT sector stocks showed several gains.
The Rupee on the Incline:
On Friday, the Rupee gained by 14 paise against the US dollar. The rise was recorded at 74.13. In the previous day's close, the Indian rupee had retained a position at 74.27 compared to the dollar.
Gland Pharma made a strong debut on the NSE. The issue price for Gland Pharma was stated at ₹1,500. The shares for the pharma company rose to ₹1,819 on the BSE. On the NSE, Gland Pharma is stated at Rs 1,710 per share.
The initial share sale for Gland Pharma was stated at ₹6,479.5-crore. The pharma company had 3,02,37,879 shares for its IPO. A total of 6,21,55,670 shares underwent bidding. Gland Pharma received twice the subscription for its IPO.
Stocks to Watch Today:
Titan Company, the luxury goods company, has been gaining on Friday. The luxury watch and eyewear manufacturer posted gains by 3.63%. Titan Company posted a rise by 42 points, hitting a 52-week high at Rs 1339.40 per share.
The share price for Vodafone Idea rose by 4 percent. Vodafone Idea sold its stake in Indus Towers to receive Rs 3,760.1 crore. The 11.15 percent stake with the telecom infrastructure company has been sold which upped the share price for Vodafone Idea.
Stocks such as NTPC, Bajaj Finserv, and Nestle India were the top gainers on Friday.
