New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India's very affordable car Eeco is very popular. People also like it because it is one of the cheapest cars in the country. In this sequence, considering the safety of its customers, Maruti Suzuki has added the 'passenger side air bag feature' to it. At the same time, after adding this feature, its price has increased.
Eeco price hiked
Till now only standard safety features were given in Maruti Suzuki, now the driver and the passenger sitting in the passenger seat will get airbag facility. With the introduction of new safety features, the company has also increased the price of Maruti Suzuki Eeco by Rs 8,000. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco range is currently priced between Rs 4.30 Lakh and 7.29 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the Indian market.
This is not the first time that the company is increasing the prices of its cargo variants. Earlier in April 2021, Maruti Suzuki introduced Reverse Parking Assistance System (RPAS) on the cargo variant of Maruti Eeco. At that time also the company has increased the prices of the cargo variants.
The non-cargo variants of the Maruti Suzuki Eeco van are offered in both 5- and 7-seater options, with the base variant offering no AC, while the top variant gets AC.
Engine
Coming to the engine, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 73 bhp and 101 Nm of peak torque. The Eeco line-up also gets a CNG variant, which returns a mileage of 21.8 kmpl.
Let us tell you, the BS6 compliant version of the eco was introduced in the Indian market in January last year, followed by the BS6 S-CNG model, which is available for sale in the Indian market from March.
