Before the launch of Citroen C3, the company has released the first television commercial (TVC) of this car.
New Delhi: French automobile company Citroen has recently released its 'Made in India for Indian' SUV. This was the global debut of this car. The company had provided this SUV the codename CC21, but after the launch, the company has named this SUV as C3.
Now before the launch of Citroen C3, the company has released the first television commercial (TVC) of this car.
It is being speculated that this car can be launched next year and initially Citroen can sell this SUV in Indian markets as well as South American markets.
Let us tell you that Citroen had removed some of the features of this SUV at the beginning of the week. In this teaser image, the Citroen logo was seen on the bonnet lid of the car. From the front, this car gives a somewhat similar feel to the company's C5 Air-cross SUV, which was launched in India last year.
Apart from this, it was seen in the teaser image that this car also has a special design LED headlight and DRLs, which give this car a futuristic feel.
Technically speaking, the Citroen C3, Tata's upcoming micro SUV can be called the cousin car of the Punch micro SUV. Citroen has built the C3 on the same Common Modular Platform (CMP) that is also used in the Tata Punch.
According to auto experts, Citroen has chosen this platform so that it can make the prices of its SUV more affordable in terms of India and South American markets. It is being told that the company has taken this decision in view of the slow response received by the C5 Air-cross in the Indian market. In fact, experts say that despite being a better car in the segment, the customers did not show much interest in the C5 Air-cross due to the relatively high prices.
The Citroen C3 could be the first car to hit the Indian roads with a flex-fuel engine that is compatible with ethanol-based petrol. Reports claim that Citroen is going to fit a 1.2-litre turbocharged flex-fuel engine in the C3 SUV, which can be mated to either a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The engine will be capable of producing a maximum power of 130 bhp. The SUV could also get the option of a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine.
In the Indian market, the Citroen C3 will compete with other vehicles including Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Mahindra XUV300.
