New Delhi: Kia Carens is a three-row people-mover with an SUV like design that will take on the likes of Hyundai Alcazar and even Mahindra XUV700. Kia Caren's India will be launching in 2022, but the vehicle will be unveiled on December 16.
After the launch of Seltos, Carvival and Sonet, Kia is all set to include a fourth vehicle to the list. This vehicle, which was previously codenamed KY, has now been officially named as 'Carens.' Kia has labelled Carens name for the Indian market and was likely to use it for its upcoming three-row vehicle. Kia Carens is a three-row people-mover designed as SUV, like the Hyundai Alcazar and even Mahindra XUV700. The vehicle is looking forward to make its global debut this month, on 16 December and will be launched in India in 2022.
Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, Tae-Jin Park stated, "We are really excited to introduce our fourth product for the Indian market, the Kia Carens. Kia desires to offer a premium and comfortable family RV that contains a three-row seating configuration and is features that fits perfectly with India’s urban lifestyle and road conditions. We are confident that the Kia Carens will prove to be a game changer, and it is all set to shake up a few segments."
Carens will be manufactured at the company's Anantapur plant and it might also be exported from this plant.
The South Korean carmaker has not yet revealed any other detail about its upcoming car for India but we can assume that the vehicle will be based on Seltos' platform. However, it might have a longer wheelbase than the Seltos to accommodate the third row of seats. Carens is also expected to come equipped with features like a large touchscreen, UVO connectivity suite, automatic AC, sunroof, and more.
