Breaking: Sasikala cannot contest elections for 6 years

New Delhi: In a major setback for AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala Natarajan, who is aspiring to be the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, the Supreme Court on Tuesday restored her conviction in a disproportionate assets case.

A Supreme Court division bench set aside a Karnataka High Court order staying Sasikala's conviction by a trial court. Sasikala has been giver jail term for 4 years.

After being convicted in disproportionate assets by Supreme Court Sasikala cannot contest elections for the next 6 years.
