Bomb scare on Pakistani flight forces emergency landing

New Delhi: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane was diverted to Stansted Airport in London after a bomb threat. According to PIA, flight PK-757 sought permission to make an emergency landing at the Heathrow Airport.

The authorities, however, denied the request due to security concerns and diverted the plane to Stansted Airport. The Lahore-London flight was carrying 150 passengers.

The bomb threat was made by phone some 30 minutes before it was scheduled to land at the Heathrow Airport. There were reports of a suspicious device on the plane.

According to latest reports coming in, British police surrounded the plane after it safely landed at Stansted Airport.
