Bajaj continues the testing of its Pulsar 150NS in India, hinting the fact it has plans to launch the new 150cc motorcycle in the Indian two-wheeler market soon.
It has been more than a year now since Bajaj launched its Pulsar 150NS abroad, while the bike is still missing from the Pune-based manufacturer’s Indian fleet. When the bike was unveiled for the first time, it was assumed that it will soon replace the Pulsar 150 which is the highest selling 150cc motorcycle in the Indian market. But that wasn’t to be as still the new 150cc motorcycle hasn’t been launched in India yet. However, a new spy video posted on Youtube shows that the Bajaj Pulsar 150NS undergoing trials on the Mumbai-Pune highway. It hints that the bike is still undergoing its final leg of testing before a possible launch in the coming few months. in the testing procedure and could be launched in the near future.
The Bajaj Pulsar 150NS is based on a revised version of the Pulsar 200NS' perimeter frame and gets the similar styling as well. It shares the new 149cc, four-valve, air-cooled engine from the Pulsar AS150, which gives best-in-class power output. The single-cylinder motor makes 16.8bhp of maximum power and delivers torque up to 13Nm. Other advantages with the bike are the rear mono-shock and the new semi digital console, while the other features are quite similar to the existing Pulsar 150 DTS-i.
Already performing well in the global market with export numbers crossing the 20,000 mark, the Bajaj Pulsar 150NS has the makings of being a successful product in the Indian market. The company is already doing well with the Pulsar 150 DTS-i model, which is the market leader in its respective segment. So, it seems that the company don't want to take any risk with its most popular product and that could be the reason restricting the 150NS from entering the country. However, if launched here, the bike will compete with the likes of the Yamaha FZ, the Suzuki Gixxer, the Honda CB Hornet 160R and the Hero Extreme Sports.
