New Delhi:It is said that where there is a will, there is a way. A 67-year-old from Kerala has been successful in proving this statement. The country and the world is focusing on electric vehicles and people are also shifting to electric cars and electric two-wheelers to curb pollution along with saving their diesel-petrol expenses, in the Kollam district of Kerala. Antony John, who lives in the city, made an electric car at his home, which can accommodate 2-3 people and it can run for 60 kilometers at the cost of just Rs 5. Only 4.5 lakh rupees have been spent to make it.

Dream becomes reality

The Cartoq site has reported on a YouTube channel named Village Vaartha quoting Antony John's shared video, in which the story begins with the story that Antony John, working as a career consultant by profession, has to commute 60 kms to the office every day. For which he used to take the service of electric scooter. But sometimes due to rain or heat, they had difficulty in moving.

In such a situation, he thought 4 years ago, that is, in 2018, why not make an electric car, which will also reduce the running cost and also get rid of other problems. Antony gathered all the information on the Internet and then ordered the necessary components, ie electric motor, battery and other things from Delhi.

Common man's electric car

Antony contacted a garage and shared his idea and design of the electric car with the mechanics there and then worked with them on the body and mechanics. Although it was delayed due to the Corona crisis, he turned his dream into reality some time ago, when his first electric car was ready. Antony's electric car has steering, brakes, clutch, accelerator, headlights, fog lamps, indicators as well as seating for 2-3 children behind the driving seat.

The most interesting thing is that you can drive it comfortably and take it where you cannot take the car, due to its small size. The maximum speed of this electric car is 25 kmph and its battery range is 60 km. It does not even take much time to fully charge and its running cost is very low.
