Mumbai. Volkswagen India is about to launch its Taigun SUV in 2021. The SUV was showcased in concept form at the Auto Expo 2020 held in February. Volkswagen has released the teaser video of Taigun. While unveiling the vehicle, the company promised that the Taigun will be launched during the first quarter of 2021.
The Volkswagen Taigun is the company's first product based on the MQB A0 IN platform. It will get Volkswagen's TSI technology. The front appeal of the car gives it a bold and muscular look, making it a sporty SUV. Volkswagen's signature LED tail lamps have been used in its rear. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD etc.

The production model of Taigun is not much different from its concept model. The front of the SUV has a bold twin slat wide grille. There are LED headlamps and aggressive bumpers. 17 inch diamond cut alloy wheels with 5 spoke design have been used. The rear has a reflective red trim panel on the boot lid between the tail lamps.
There is no glimpse in the teaser video regarding the interior of the SUV. But the Taigoon concept model had a fully digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system inside the car. The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Apart from this, Auto Climate Control, Steering Mounted Controls and Connected Car Technology are also included in the features of Taigun.

Expected Launch: Its launch is expected in April 15, 2021.
Expected Powertrain: We expect Volkswagen to offer it with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine tuned to make 115PS/200Nm. The transmission on offer is expected to be a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG.
Expected Features: The Volkswagen Taigun is expected to feature LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, a 9.2-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof.
Rivals: When Volkswagen does launch the Taigun in India, it will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
