New Delhi: The demand for electric vehicles may increase due to the rising petrol and diesel prices in the country, but the biggest problem faced by the people is the battery backup of the vehicles. However, now trying to put an end to this trouble, US-based electric vehicle maker Triton has introduced such a car in India, which will run about 1200 km on a single charge. If this claim is true, then in the coming time this electric vehicle can be seen in large numbers in the country.
US-based electric vehicle maker Triton EV, which recently announced its plans to foray into India, has showcased its Model H electric SUV in Hyderabad, Telangana. This will be the first car from the carmaker to be launched in India.
At first glance, the Triton EV Model H SUV stands out massively and has a smattering of an American SUV, with a big chunky front face and a large grille.
It measures 5,690 mm in length, 2,057 mm in height and 1,880 mm in width. The wheelbase roughly matches with the massive size of the SUV at 3,302 mm.
The Triton EV Model H SUV can seat eight people, which is the highest EV offering in India. The company also claims that it has enough room to fit up to 5,663 liters (200 cubic feet) of luggage.
The Triton EV also promises great performance from the Model H SUV. It draws power from a set of 200kWh battery packs, which have the option of HyperCharge.
The Triton EV claims that the electric SUV can be fully recharged via a hypercharger in just two hours. On a full charge, the Model H SUV can run for around 1,200 km without being plugged in.
If the claim is true, it will be the first electric car in India to be able to cross 1,000 kms on an electric charge and will certainly be one of the longest range EVs globally.
Himanshu B Patel, Founder and Managing Director, Triton EV said, “As we have said earlier, India continues to be a very important market and activity hub for Triton EVs. We are introducing a complete 'Make in India' Electric Vehicle from Zaheerabad. This manufacturing facility is the largest of the Triton EVs in the world after the United States.
We are excited to launch the Model H and the first response from automotive experts has been overwhelming, who got to see and feel the Model H here.”
Triton EV will use this facility to produce cars not only for India, but also in overseas markets such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the entire Middle East region.
