New Delhi: Kia Corporation is about to launch its first dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) which is based on the South Korean carmaker’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform or E-GMP. Kia has released the first official images of EV6 and the debut of the car will be done in the first quarter of 2021.
According to the Senior Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design Centre Karim Habib said that the EV6, “has been designed to inspire every journey by offering an instinctive and natural experience that improves the daily lives of our customers, and provide user ownership that is simple, intuitive and integrated.”
The EV6 will have a bold design that “embodies Kia’s shifting focus towards electrification.” Kia's new design philosophy is “Movement that inspires.”
Talking about the teaser, it is observed that EV6 will feature a unique design with a sporty stylish windscreen that flows into a sloping roof. The video included streamlined bodywork, an angular rear window, flush-mounted door handles, LED highlights as well as sequential turn signals along the unique brake lights.
Kia did not release any specifications about the upcoming launch of EV6. The EV6 could be offered with 58 and 72.6 kWh battery packs with rear and all-wheel-drive configurations. Two electric motors could have a combined power of 306 PS and 605 Nm.
