According to a notification issued by the Department of Heavy Industries, the subsidy for electric two-wheelers has been increased to 15,000 per KWh, a 5,000 per KWh increase over the previous subsidy rate.
After this announcement of the government, most of the electric scooter manufacturers have reduced the prices of scooters that meet the conditions of this scheme.
Hero has slashed the prices of its Optima HX range of electric scooters in view of the revised FAME II subsidy.
Thus, the single battery version of this electric scooter is now available for Rs 53,600, which was earlier available at Rs 61,640. If you wish, you can book the Optima HX single battery version by paying a token amount of Rs 2,999 by visiting the company's official website.
Apart from this, the prices of Hero Optima dual-battery version have also been cut. The company has reduced the new price of this powerful scooter from Rs 74,660 to Rs 58,980. That is, the first Rs 15,680 less. This version can cover a total distance of 122 km on a single charge.
Some of the key features of the Optima range scooter include apron-mounted turn indicators, a USB port, a digital instrument cluster, 12-inch alloy wheels, a remote lock, an LED headlight and an anti-theft alarm.
Ather 450X: Ather recently launched the 450X, which can be considered as an updated version of the 450 scooter. Powering the 450X is a 3.3 kW / 6 kW (continuous/peak power) motor that generates 26 Nm of torque.
Not only this, with the help of this powerful motor, the Ather 450X takes only 3.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph, while this scooter can catch the speed of 0-60 kmph in 6.5 seconds. This performance is somewhat similar to what some of the popular sports bikes in the Indian market offer. Not only this, the running range of the Ather 450 is also great. On a single charge, this scooter can run up to 116 km.
Ather had reduced the prices of its products by Rs 14,500 after the amendment to the FAME II policies.
After Ather (450X) and Hero Optima, now Okinawa Okinawa has also joined this list.
Following the government's announcement, Okinawa has reduced the prices of its scooter range in India by up to Rs 17,892.
