Jammu Kashmir's Most Wanted Militant Zakir Musa killed in Kashmir encounter.Kashmir valley's most wanted militant Zakir Musa has been killed in a major successful operation conducted by a joint team of forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The operation which was launched yesterday evening has ended today morning with the killing of Musa a big catch.Top police officials said that after having specific information about the presence of Zakir Musa in Dadsar village of the district, the Army, police, and the CRPF launched a joint operation around 6 pm, as the forces zeroed in on the house where Musa was hiding, he fired upon forces triggering a fierce gunfight. In the ensuing fight, Musa was killed inside the house.Scores of youth marched towards the encounter site, and government forces fired tear gas shells, leading to clashes. Clashes also started overnight in parts of Srinagar, Anantnag and Sopore.The divisional administration in Kashmir snapped internet in most parts of Kashmir as a precautionary measure and also ordered the closure of all schools and colleges across the Kashmir division on Friday.Zakir Rashid Bhat alias Zakir Musa had joined militancy in 2013 at the age of 19. Initially, he was affiliated with Pakistan-based militant group, Hizbul Mujahideen when it was led by Burhan Wani, who was killed in 2016. Musa shot to prominence in 2017, after he announced his disassociation with HM, and formed his own outfit Ansar ul Gazwat ul Hind, which had very less presence of militants and in past two years, most of its militants have been killed.

Who is Zakir Musa:

Terrorist Zakir Rashid Bhat was a former Hizbul Mujahideen commander; slain Burhan Wani's successor and founder and chief of Terrorist group of Al-Qaeda cell Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Musa joined the Sayeed Salahudeen's group Hizbul Mujahideen in 2013.
