New Delhi: It was back in 1999, where Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan showed a mind blowing chemistry onscreen, where they shared the screen for the first time in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). Later, the filmmaker wanted to bring back the duo in Bajirao Mastani but due to their ugly break up, the project was indeed turned down. Nevertheless, the film was made with A-listers, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone which made a big name in 2015.
According to the reports, Salman and Aishwarya were Sanjay's first priority for his upcoming movie 'Padmavati'. Where he approached and nearly convinced them to do the movie, Aishwarya put forth a condition. Aishwarya demanded Salman's role as the antagonist, Alauddin Khilji, who sets to capture Rani Padmini, and leaves no scenes with her. However, Salman eventually rejected the offer and reports suggest that he was unwilling to settle for a film with Aishwarya if he wouldn't share screen space with her.
However, the latest update on Padmavati states that it is being shot with versatile actors like Ranveer Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor. The movie is slated to release on November 17 this year.
