She sacrificed life for work..captured her death on camera

New Delhi: This may be called a spine-chilling moment of a photographer's life, where she had the heart of capturing her own death on camera in an accidental mortar explosion in Afghanistan four years back, according to media reports.

This US photographer Hilda Clayton, 22, of Augusta, Georgia, was a member of the Fort Meade, Maryland-based 55th Signal Company.

This photo of Clayton was published in Military Review and became one of the most watched picture on the social media.

Army’s journal noted that Clayton’s death “symbolizes how female soldiers are increasingly exposed to hazardous situations in training and in combat on par with their male counterparts.”
