Kunal Kamra rose to fame with his podcast 'Shut Up Ya Kunal" in which he sat down to have one on one conversation with representatives of Political movements. He made them laugh while intended to get to their heart and know their ideologies and political stand.
New Delhi, News24 Bureau, Jan 29: Stand-up comedian and Social media personality Kunal Kamra has hogged the limelight after he posted a video on his social media accounts heckling journalist Arnab Goswami on a Mumbai-Lucknow IndiGo flight on Tuesday.
Soon after Kamra's stint on the airplane, IndiGo airlines barred him for six months for his inadequate behaviour. "In light of the recent incident on board 6E 5317 from Mumbai to Lucknow, we wish to inform you that we are suspending Mr. Kunal Kamra from flying with IndiGo for a period of six months, as his conduct onboard was unacceptable behavior," the airlines mentioned in an official statement.
Kamra then took his Instagram handle to respond and said that he politely wanted to have a conversation with the journalist but he pretended to be on a phone call. The comedian also said, "I gave Arnab a monologue about what he felt about his journalism" and was called, "Mentally Unstable" by the journalist. Kunal wrote a long description of the event and mentioned, "My statement, not my apology."
Kunal Kamra rose to fame with his podcast 'Shut Up Ya Kunal" in which he sat down to have one on one conversation with several representatives of Political parties. He made them laugh while intended to get to their heart and know their ideologies and political stands. Kanhaiya Kumar, Ravish Kumar, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Umar Khalid, and Shehla Rashid among others have been some top personalities to attend his show.
Time and again, Kunal has attracted the spotlight for his anti-government statements. To make his anti-Modi and anti-CAA clear, the comedian had earlier tweeted, "Dear PM Modi, Media is with you, Bollywood is with you, 353 MP's are with you, all the Indian bigots are with you, corrupt criminals and rapists are with you, RSS is with you, NRI dhokla mafia is with you, but we stand rock solid against you, because the nation doesn't need you."
The tweet did not go down well with BJP General Secretary Mohit Bharatiya. He openly threatened Kamra and wrote, "Take my Words U will also be Fixed Soon @kunalkamra88,"
The comedian was also spotted at the anti-CAA protests at Shaheen Bagh in Delhi last week. He also teamed up with Congress MP Shashi Tharoor recently for a stand-up comedy limited series named ‘One Mic Stand’ hosted by Sapan Verma.
