In 2009, things had turned sour between Azam Khan and Jaya Prada as the former was angry over Amar Singh's influence on her, retorts to cheap comments
New Delhi, April 15: Things have taken an ugly turn on Azam Khan's cheap comments on Bollywood actor and BJP's candidate from Rampur Jaya Prada.
In 2009, things had turned sour between Azam Khan and Jaya Prada and he resorted to cheap comments.
In her first reaction towards the entire episode, Jaya Prada said, "It isn't new for me. You may remember that I was a candidate from his party in 2009 when no one supported me after he made comments against me. I'm a woman and I can't even repeat what he said. I don't know what I did to him that he is saying such things."In 2009, things had turned sour between Azam Khan and Jaya Prada as the former was angry over Amar Singh's influence on her, and Khan held Singh responsible for what he termed a disastrous tie-up between Mulayam Singh and Kalyan Singh.Khan blocked Jaya Pradas ticket but ended up being expelled from the SP for anti-party activities. Jaya Prada won, albeit with a lesser margin of 31,000 votes, thanks to Khan actively working to ensure her defeat.Khan, while addressing a poll campaign rally in his parliamentary constituency Rampur on Sunday, had said, "I brought her (Jaya Prada) to Rampur. You are a witness that I did not allow anyone to touch her body. It took you 17 years to identify her real face but I got to know in 17 days that she wears khaki underwear."However, asserting that he did not name anyone, the SP leader said he would withdraw his candidature from the ongoing polls if proved guilty.NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma said, "He's always talking dirty about women and in this election it's the 2nd remark he gave against a woman politician. The NCW has taken suo-motu cognizance and we're sending him a notice."We are also writing to the EC to take strict action against him because he has to learn a lesson. It's high time, he stop this. Women are not sex objects. I think, women voters should vote against such kind of people who treat women in this way."FIR has been registered against Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan for his comment 'main 17 din mein pehchan gaya ki inke niche ka underwear khaki rang ka hai'
