Prime Minister Narendra Modi's great initiative to spread awareness about the importance of International Yoga Day has made yoga a global trend. He shared a string of animated versions performing asanas through his Twitter handle. Through the videos, PM Modi also shed light on the importance of each asana and their role in improving the overall health of the body.
Due to the hectic lifestyle these days, stress has become a common symptom in individuals. It can take a toll on individuals’ mental as well as physical health. There are a series of asanas that can help in curing and reducing the level of stress. By calming the nervous system, these asanas can help in relieving stress. Child pose, Bridge pose, Eagle pose, Standing forward bend and Corpse pose are few asanas that can help in relieving stress.
The Child Pose:
Child Pose is also called as Balasana and this is the easiest yoga pose which can be done easily while sitting on your bed. Child pose helps in calming the mind which benefits lymphatic as well as the nervous system.
Bridge pose is also known as Setu Bandha Sarvangasana. This posture is good for thyroid patients and helps in quick weight loss. To perform this yoga, the waist area is lifted upwards to form a bridge-like position. This asana helps in regulating hormones related to metabolism. This posture helps in curing headaches, fatigue, backache and insomnia.
Eagle pose is called Garudasana in Sanskrit and has multiple health benefits. Eagle Pose helps in reducing stress by improving focus. This asana helps in releasing stress from legs, shoulder, and back.
Standing Forward Bend:
Standing Forward Bend is also called as Uttanasana and it stretches hamstrings. This yoga posture is magical for those suffering from depression. It helps in curing anxiety and mild depression.
Corpse Pose is also called Shavasana and it focuses on the relaxation of the complete body. It calms the nervous system and lowers blood pressure.
