98 hours combing op at Pathankot airbase ends

New Delhi: Ninety-eight hours of gritty combing operation at Pathankot airbase came to an end, Lt Gen KJ Singh, GOC Western Command, said today while briefing media over the terror attack.


Lauding the counter active measures against the attack, he said that there was excellent cooperation among the agencies in this operation.


He also urged the media to understand the sensitivity of situation; to be factual in their reports. “Wrong to say role of Army was limited. My bomb disposal teams are still working there, they are playing a very large role,” he illumined.


There have been seven heroes who shed their lives fighting terrorists. Of the wounded, three are from the Army and are in the Command Hospital. They're fine, will be fighting fit soon, Singh added.


He assured the entire route to be traced back, and be dealt with accordingly.
