New Delhi: Security agencies have blocked as many as 94 websites for supporting the ISIS propaganda in the country.
The move follows a joint-operation by the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) under which more than a dozen suspects have been arrested so far.
According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the ATS has been continuously monitoring various social media platforms for various suspicious activities. It has also been coordinating with religious leaders from the Muslim community to de-radicalize suspected youth as a part of its anti-IS strategy.
The security agencies have arrested 14 terror suspects from various states including, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal as a part of its nation-wide crackdown on the terror modules ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in the country.
