Mumbai: The crime branch unit of the Mumbai Police on Friday seized 9 kg gold worth Rs 2.25 crore from Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. Seven people have been arrested in this connection. The gold was hidden in a sweet box. Two cars have been seized too.
The gold was in form of biscuits, 10 biscuits of 10 grams each and 8 biscuits of 1 kg each. The biscuits had stamp of Switzerland. Police has informed the Customs and Income Tax authorities who are now investigating the case.(News24Bureau)
