5 Soothing drinks to chill your summer!

India is rich in various spices, herb, veggies and fruits and many of them are unique to a particular area or region. thus each region of India has some special drinks and in summers to homemade drinks are the only savior. in order to cool your body and prevent a heat stroke in the summer, you need refreshing drinks that soothe your soul.These summers drink not just cool you down but also make up for the lost minerals as you sweat. So here we have 5 smoothing drinks for your summer.

Mango ice tea


*Ripe mango- 1, medium size, peel, puree the pulp and chill

*Tea leave- 2 tsp

*Water- 1 lt or 4 cups

*Lemon juice- 1tbsp

*Sugar- 4-5 tbsps, adjust

*Mint leaves for garnish

*Ripe mango cubes for garnish - 7-8 big piece 

*Ice Cubes - 10-12


 Method for making mango ice tea

1- take a pan add water and let it boil, after 2-3 mins reduce the flame and add the tea leaves.allow it to simmer for 2-mins, turn off the flame, add sugar and allow to dissolve. let the brewed black tea come to room temperature.

2- strain the black tea into large picture of the jug. add lemons juice and chilled mango pure and mix well. add mint leaves and allow the flavor to meld.

3- your drink is almost ready now, pour the mango tea into glasses add ice cubes. garnish it with ripe mango cubes. and serve with a smile:)




1- Curd-1cup, thick and beaten smooth

2- water- 2cups, chilled

3- salt

4-black salt- 3\4 tsp

5 coriander leaves-2 tbspns( finely choped)


 Method of making chaas


* Take a bowl, blend the thick curd with a blender or wooden churn. keep add some water and kepp blending it. mix it well

* Your chaas is almost ready now, add slat, black slat and mix it well. pour into glasses, now garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve it with a smile:)



1 Milk-2 cups, full fat

2 jelly-1\2cup, cubed(raspberry or strawberry)

3  flooda sev-1\2 cup

4 falooda seeds- 1tsp(sabja/basils seeds) soak in 1/3 cup water for 20-30 mins

5 pistachios-5 sliced

6 vanilla ice cream-4 scoops

 Methods for making falooda

*Bring milk to boil and simmer till it reduces to 11/2cups. turn off the flame and bring to room temperature. add11/2 to 2 tbsp of rose syrup to the milk and mix. chill unit use.

 *Its time yo make jelly now, instructions are given there in packets follow them, cool and refrigerate. let it cool dow, cut into small cubes and set aside.

*Make falooda sev by the following the instruction in the packet.place i cold water and refrigerate until use.

*Take a bowl half full with water add falooda seeds and let it soak for 30 mins an ' let it bloom. set aside

*Chill the serving glasses in the fridge for an hour.

*Time to assemble falooda: Take the chilled serving glass and add a generous tbsp of rose syrup or rooh afsa.

*Add 2 tbsps of jelly cubes and bloomed falooda seeds.

*Next layer with 1/4 cup of falooda sev. slowly pour the chilled rose milk till 3/4th of the glass.next add two scoops of vanilla ice cream on top.

*Your drink is almost ready now, garnish it with some rose syrup, sliced nuts, and a cherry.  now serve with simple:)





1 Gulkand- 2tbsps,(rose petal jam)

2 milk - 500ml, boiled and chilled

3 rose sryup- 1 tbsp

Method for making  gulkand milkshake

* Using a hand blender or mixie, blend chilled milk, rose syrup and gulkand till smooth and frothy.

  Pour into glasses

* add ice cubes and serve with smile:)

 Virgin Mojito


1 Sprite - 300 ml

2  Lemon juice - 4-5 tbsps

3 Mint leaves - 1/4 cup.

4 Sugar syrup - 3 tbsp

5  Ice cubes - 9-10

Methods of making virgin mojito

*Prepare sugar syrup by heating 1 1/2 tbsps of sugar in 1/4 cup water on low to medium flame.

*Let the sugar dissolve completely. Allow simmering for a little less than half a mt. Turn off the flame and bring the sugar syrup to room temperature.

*Take a serving glass, add 7-8 fresh mint leaves, a tbsp of sugar syrup and a little more than a tbsp of lemon juice.

 Use a muddler or a spoon to gently crush or bruise the mint leaves.

*Slowly pour the chilled sprite into the glass till it almost reaches the brim and stirs to mix.

*The above recipe makes 3 glasses. Follow the same procedure (Step 2 & 3) to make 2 more glasses of the mocktail.

*Garnish with a slice of lemon, a small sprig of mint leaves and add 2 to 3 ice cubes in each glass. Serve it with a smile.
