Paris: A huge explosion rocked a building in the central Paris on Friday leaving at least five people injured. Local residents have reportedly been evacuated.
The explosion took place on the Rue d’Uzes, close to the Paris Stock Exchange building and the headquarters of the AFP news agency, in the sixth arrondissement.
The cause of the explosion is believed to be a gas leak, the police confirmed. Earlier, several reports on social media also suggested the similar cause for the massive explosion.
Around 140 firefighters were on the scene to help free victims from the building, which contained offices for businesses including lawyers, accountants and telecommunications firms, IANS reported.
