3 dead, 9 injured in Bhendi Bazar building collapse

New Delhi, August 31: Three precious lives are lost and nine injured in Bhendi Bazar building collapse. The rescue operations are underway in Mumbai. At least 30-35 people are feared trapped, and more casualities are expected.  A three-storey building had collapsed near JJ Junction in Pakmodia street of Bhindi Bazar here Thursday. 

"3 people rescued from debris, looking for other survivors. Number of trapped people not confirmed," said DCP Zone 1 Dr Manoj Sharma before the fatal deaths were reported. 

This is the first major building collapse after Tuesday's Mumbai deluge, and the second in five days after the Chandivali crash which claimed six lives.

More details are awaited.
