New Delhi: Do you work the night shift? If you answered yes, you’re undoubtedly dealing with a messed-up biological clock while your mental and physical health is suffering.
Night shifts are the worst for your health, but due to corporate culture, most employees have to start work late and leave their desk in the early hours of the morning. If making friends and socialising weren’t such a headache, nothing healthy comes from working all night and seeing bright sunshine when it’s time to sleep.
Even though the body changes during the night, since there isn’t any sleep, most sleep-induced functions tend to be suppressed or delayed.
There are still ways to maintain your physical fitness and make sure your body is receiving the nutrients it needs.
Rujuta Diwekar, a well-known nutritionist who has worked with celebrities like Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Kangana Ranaut, posted an Instagram video explaining the three crucial guidelines that people who work night shifts may adhere to in order to maintain their health.
According to her, “Night shifts can take a toll on your health and spoil your metabolism, hormones, digestion and mental health.”
3 steps to keep you healthy during Night Shifts
Begin the day with millets
When you wake up, eat some millet. So that you don’t wake up with a yearning for soda, chips, or fast food at night, eat roti or porridge made of rajgeera, jowar, or ragi.
Avoid tea or coffee at the office
The majority of people have a habit of drinking a cup of tea or coffee before working. Starting your night shift with tea or coffee, according to the expert, will only cause you to feel bloated and dehydrated. To prevent bloating, acidity, nausea, and irritability, consume buttermilk or sherbat instead. After that, to prevent dehydration and bloating, consume a banana, mango (in the summer), or gulkand with milk or water when you get home from work before going to bed.
3 suryanamaskars
After you get up in the morning, do three Suryanamaskars for body posture and spine flexibility.
