New Delhi: Park Jinyoung, a South Korean idol actor, will start his military service on May 8, according to a statement from his management company, BH Entertainment. The business stated in the same document that there would be no formal fan event on the day of enrollment.
Park Jinyoung to begin military service on May 8
The agency said, “Park Jinyoung will fulfill his duty to his country and enlist in basic military training on May 8th.”
The statement further reads, “There will be no separate official event and we ask for your understanding as he will be arriving in private for the safety and in consideration of the other families and their loved ones.”
Fans were asked not to go to the military installation on the day of enlistment, according to the label. “As always, thank you very much for your support as Jinyoung fulfills his duties in the military and returns happy and in good health,” the statement stated.
Jinyoung is the second member of GOT7 to join the military. Members BamBam and Jackson Wang are exempt from enlistment because they are not Korean citizens. JayB is also doing his military service as a social worker.
Jinyoung has previously stated that he would be enrolling in May of this year. In a letter he wrote, “Everyone must be very worried, but [I’ve] gotten rather confident and reassured while meeting all of you. That is why I promise to return more mature and in good health after experiencing a lot while thinking of everyone.”
