Sama Rice Dhokla: The holy festival of Navratri is going to start from tomorrow i.e. 22 March 2023. Devotees worship Maa Durga during Navratri and keep fast. Actually there is no option to eat a lot during fasting. In such a situation, people have to make do with limited things. Energy level becomes low during fasting.

Because of which one does not have the courage to make anything by standing in the kitchen for a long time. In such a situation, you can make this dish of sama rice. Whose name is Dhokla. It is very fun to eat.

Till now you must have eaten kheer, pulav, khichdi etc made of Sama rice many times but have you ever eaten Dhokla made of Sama rice. If not, then you know very quickly how to make tasty Dhokla to be eaten during fasting.

Sama Rice Dhokla: Ingredients

  • 1 cup sama rice
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4-5 green chilies
  • 2 whole red chilies
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • little ghee
  • 1 tablespoon groundnut oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 pinches baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon green coriander leaves finely chopped
  • salt as per taste

Recipe

  • To make Sama rice dhokla, first make a solution of curd and water.
  • Now soak the sama rice in this prepared solution overnight.
  • When the rice swells well, grind them well in the mixer.
  • Now put salt as per taste in this batter, and also add a pinch of baking soda.
  • Now mix this mixture very well.
  • Now take a deep vessel, and apply ghee well all around it.
  • After this put the Dhokla batter in this utensil and spread it well.
  • Now you can use both cooker and microwave to cook it.
  • If you are making it in a cooker, then fill some water in it and heat it.
  • Then put the vessel containing the batter on top of it and cover it well.
  • Now let it cook in low flame for about 20 minutes.
    Check once in between with the help of a stick.
  • If the batter is not sticking to the stick, then understand that your dhokla is made.
  • And if you are making it in the microwave then just put the solution in the utensil.
  • Now set it in the microwave for 15-20 minutes and keep it for cooking.
  • When it is cooked, prepare the tempering.
  • For this, put some ghee in a pan and heat it.
  • Now put green chilies, red chilies, mustard seeds and curry leaves in it.
  • After this, you put this spice on top of Dhokla.
  • Now garnish with green coriander, and keep it in the fridge to cool down.
  • Serve when it’s time to eat.
