Palak Khichadi: Ingredients
- Spinach – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 finely chopped
- Rice – half cup
- Arhar Dal – 1 cup
- Cumin – half teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – half teaspoon
- salt – as per taste
- Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp (as per taste)
- Desi ghee – 1 tsp
- Green chili – 2 finely chopped
- water – as desired
Method
- To make Palak Dal Khichdi, first clean the rice and lentils thoroughly.
- After this, soak the lentils and rice in lukewarm water for 10 minutes.
- Now put ghee in a pressure cooker and heat it on the gas.
- When the ghee becomes hot, you put cumin seeds in it and let it crackle.
- Now add chopped onions along with finely chopped green chilies to it.
- Fry all these things well together.
- After this, add turmeric powder and red chili powder and fry for 1 minute.
- Now add salt as per taste and then add lentils and rice.
- Now put a glass of water in it and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- If you want, you can also increase the water, now put finely chopped spinach in it.
- Then close the cooker and after 2 whistles turn off the gas.
- Your Palak Dal Khichdi is ready, now serve it with desi ghee, curd, chutney, and pickle.
