Lauki Halwa Recipe: Ingredients
Gourd – 1 kg
Powdered sugar – 300 grams
Cashew – 15 chopped
Almonds – 15 chopped
Mawa (khoya) – 250 grams
Full cream milk – 1 cup
Desi ghee – 50 grams
Cardamom – 5
Method
- To make gourd pudding, first wash it well and then peel it and cut it into big pieces.
- Now take out all its seeds, grate the gourd, and separate the water by pressing it with your hands.
- After this, take milk in a pan and add grated bottle gourd to it and let it cook, stirring occasionally.
- When the milk reduces completely and the pudding becomes thick, add powdered sugar to it and mix.
- Now put mawa in another pan on low heat and roast it until it turns brown.
- Now take out the mawa in a plate and keep it aside.
- Now cut dry fruits into small pieces and make powder of cardamom as well.
- Now heat ghee in a pan and add cooked bottle gourd to it and fry for 5 minutes while stirring well.
- When the bottle gourd is fried, add the prepared mawa, dry fruits and cook it.
- Now your pudding is ready, garnish it with chopped dry fruits and serve hot.
