She rose to prominence by playing an overweight homemaker in her debut film, ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha,’ which caused many to believe she was always overweight. Pednekar, on the other hand, was a model who gained 30 kg for the role and refused to wear a fat suit.

Pihu revealed that she had to work hard for her transformation as Lata, an aspiring singer and performer. She had to put on 20kgs for the role.
