Know The Laughing Mandate In This Country: How A Province Is Encouraging Daily Joy

Laughing is crucial for health, as it can help cure many diseases. Because of this, a province in Japan has made it mandatory for people to laugh at least once a day. This new law is not widely known, and we claim that 90 percent of people are unaware of it. If you don’t know about this country and its new law, you should definitely read this news.

As reported by Business Insider, Japan is the country where this unusual yet effective law has been enacted in one of its provinces. Last week, the administration in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, created a special way to promote the health of its people. They passed a law requiring people to laugh at least once a day. This rule is based on recent research conducted at a local university.

Research by Yamagata University shows that laughing has numerous health benefits, such as reducing heart disease and increasing lifespan. While the law doesn’t force people to laugh, it aims to inspire citizens to maintain a joyful atmosphere throughout the day. Workplaces are also encouraged to foster a lighthearted environment. Additionally, the 8th of every month will be celebrated as Humor Day.

While the administration is trying to create a better environment with this law, there are objections to it. The Japanese Communist Party claims that the law violates human freedom, arguing that the right to laugh or not to laugh is protected by the constitution. The Constitutional Democratic Party points out that the law doesn’t consider those who can’t laugh due to illness, oppression, or sadness. However, the administration emphasizes that the law is meant to encourage laughter, not enforce it, and no fines will be imposed on those who don’t laugh.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
