Kick Day 2023: Valentine’s Day is passed, and if you’re alone and upset, the week after this overly romantic holiday is the ideal time to start your healing. Kick Day is observed on February 16, the second day of Anti-Week, Valentine’s which starts on February 15 with Slap Day. On Kick Day, people attempt to get rid of all the mementoes or reminders of their ex-partner as well as the negative brought on by their previous relationships.

Additionally, you can occasionally be in an on-again, off-again relationship with your ex, which usually results in you going through a lot of emotional pain. Kick Day is the ideal moment for you to inform your sweetheart that it’s time to go on if you and they have broken up but he or she is still holding onto you.

According to an expert, “You’ve finally ended relationship with your girlfriend or boyfriend and ready to move on from this. The only problem is, he/she isn’t ready to let you go. You’ll need to be super clear that the relationship is over so that he/she doesn’t think there is a chance that you’ll get back together.”

Here are some easy tips by experts:-

1. When cutting it off, be compassionate but strong

Any partnership needs to have open communication. While in distress, one could try to justify, even though they desire closure. Avoid playing the victim and be very clear that you don’t want to date them any more. The only reason relationships end is that one partner can no longer support the other. Avoid delivering any contradictory messages that would lead them to believe that a reconciliation is possible.

2. Put an end to pointless correspondence with your ex

They’ll probably think there’s a chance they can get you back if you stay in touch. Even though it can sound rude, kindly let them know that you won’t be returning their calls or responding to their messages so that you both have a chance to move on. Block them if they continue to disagree with you so that you won’t receive calls or texts from them.

3. Uphold boundaries

It will indicate that you still want this relationship to work if you return their calls, occasionally answer their messages, or invite them to hang out with you. Be firm to uphold healthy boundaries.

4. Be strong and take care of your mental health

Occasionally, you could feel horrible if your ex isn’t handling the breakup well. To entice you to talk to them again, she or he might say or do something incredibly nasty, unpleasant, or dangerous to them. Sharing your concerns with a close friend or mental health professional who can support and assist you during this trying time is advisable because it may become overwhelming.

5. Keep an eye on your social media settings

An obsessive ex could want to keep following you or read every status update or message you send. In most cases, ignoring it is sufficient, but if the person persists or becomes abusive, you might need to block them or change your settings to private.

6. Modify your behaviour

You might want to stay away from your typical hangout spots if you don’t want to run into each other. For a more seamless transition, investigate new choices. Getting assistance from shared friends, family, or even legal counsel may be necessary if things get out of hand or if you feel like you are being hounded.

7. Don’t feel bad

Everyone has a different capability for handling stress, so you shouldn’t feel bad if your ex is struggling. Be self-assured and rely on your judgement.
