New Delhi: Kamada Ekadashi, a day dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is also known as Chaitra Shukla Paksha Ekadashi, as per the Hindu calendar, and is observed during Chaitra month. It is believed that fasting on this day seeks Lord Vishnu’s blessing and that one can get rid of all types of sins.
The prayer is performed after sunrise on the next day of the fast. It is critical to observe Parana before the Dwadashi tithi ends. On this day, Lord Vishnu is worshipped.
According to Hindu rituals, killing Brahmins is one of the most deadly sins anyone can commit. And keeping this day will help the person get rid of the sin they committed.
Puja Vidhi
Wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and wear new clothes. Make sure you do not commit any sins during the day.
Place an idol of Lord Vishnu along with the Shri Yantra in your Mandir and offer flowers, diya, and sweets. Don’t forget to offer Panchamrit along with Tulsi Patra, as it’s believed that without Tulsi, pooja is incomplete.
The time you should perform the pooja is in the evening, just before sunset, and offer the food with fruits, milk products, potatoes, etc. Recite the Arti of Vishnu Sahastranaam, Shree Hari Stotram, and chant Lord Vishnu.
After finishing arti and distributing bhog, one can have a Satvik meal. You can break your fast on Dwadashi Tithi after Parana.
Most importantly, don’t forget to light a diya in the Tulsi plant.

History and Vrat Katha
Varaha Purana is an Indian epic in which a singer named Lalit and his dancer wife Lalita worked at King Pundarika’s court. After discovering that his wife was not present, Lalit became distracted while performing in court one day. Because of his preoccupation, Lalit missed a few beats.
Taking advantage of the situation, his detractor, a serpent named Karotaka, told the monarch that the singer was more concerned with his wife than with the throne throughout the performance. Pundarika was persuaded by the serpent’s words, and the monarch cursed Lalita’s transformation into a monstrous man-eater.
Lalita visits guru Shringi’s ashram in search of a solution to her problem, and he advises her to fast on Ekadashi to obtain Lord Vishnu’s blessings. Lalita is a quick performer. The Lord was moved by her devotion and released Lalit from the curse, transforming him into a normal person. Worshippers fast on Kamada Ekadashi to cleanse themselves of sins, according to tradition. They believe that by fasting and praying to Lord Vishnu, they will be able to find relief from their troubles.
