Japanese Cheesecake: Japanese food has caught the world by storm in recent years. People are becoming increasingly interested in sushi, ramen, tempura fry, and other foods as ASMR and mukbang videos go widespread on social media. So much so that nowadays, practically every town has at least one Japanese restaurant.
That isn’t everything. Others are also attempting to make these foods at home. The cheesecake is another Japanese delicacy that has made its way onto our list of favourites. If you’ve ever had Japanese cheesecake, you’ll understand why it’s so popular.
Japanese Cheesecake: Ingredients
To make the cake, you need butter, cream cheese, milk, egg yolk, flour, corn-starch, egg whites, granulated sugar, hot water, powdered sugar and strawberries for garnishing.

Method
Begin by preheating the oven. Then, in a small pot (over medium heat), mix together the butter, cream cheese, and milk until smooth. Let to cool after removing from the heat. Next, whisk the egg yolks until creamy in a large mixing basin, then gradually add the cream cheese mixture, stirring until equally incorporated. Sift the flour and cornflour together, whisking to remove any lumps. In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites. While beating, gradually add the sugar. Incorporate the egg whites into the yolk mixture.
Grease the bottom and sides of a cake pan, then line with parchment paper. Shake the pan to release any large air bubbles in the batter. Put the pan in a bigger baking dish with a layer of paper towels on the bottom. The paper towels ensure that the heat is uniformly dispersed across the bottom of the pan. Fill the larger pan halfway with hot water and bake for 35 minutes in a preheated oven. Lastly, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with strawberries.
