Instant Rava Appe Recipe: Ingredients
- Semolina (1 cup)
- water (1 cup)
- Curd (1/2 cup)
- curry leaves (a little)
- Rai (1/2 tsp)
- Salt (1/2 tsp)
- Oil (3 tsp)
- Grated 1 carrot
- oil (for roasting)
- 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
- Urad Dal (1/2 tsp)
- finely chopped 1/2 onion
- Chana Dal (1/2 tsp)
- Ginger paste (1/2 tsp)
- finely chopped 1/2 capsicum
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
- Eno or baking soda (1/2 tsp)
Method
- To make Rava Appe normally, only 5 ingredients are needed, but if you need vegetables to make them stuffed, you can take them according to your mind.
- To make, first take a big vessel and add 1 cup of semolina, curd, salt along with some water to it. Leave the paste coarse, if it is too thin, it will not have the right consistency.
- Leave the paste for about 5 minutes. The longer you leave it, the better the result will be. Keep it for at least 5 minutes for fermentation.
- On the other hand prepare the masala for Rava Appe. For this, heat the pan on the gas.
- Now add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, a little curry leaves and fry them. Now fry onion, ginger paste and green chillies.
- Keep stirring all this continuously and then add your favorite vegetables including carrots, capsicum and fry till the vegetables become soft.
- Now mix these fried ingredients in the rava paste. After this, mix two tablespoons of coriander leaves as well. Also add 1/2 tsp Eno or a pinch of baking soda and mix the batter well.
- Now take an appe pan and grease it with oil. After this, put 1-1 teaspoon batter in all and cook for about 6 minutes. Cook on both sides, which will take about 10 minutes.
- In this way appe will be ready, now you can serve it with your favorite chutney or sambar.
