Importance of Basant Panchami: Basant Panchami is considered to be one of the important days in Hinduism. It marks the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Magha month. Importance of the yellow color
Yellow color is considered auspicious in Hinduism. Yellow color is considered a symbol of pure and sattvic tendency. Jupiter is also considered the god of knowledge. People believe that yellow color is the symbol of Jupiter, so wearing yellow colored clothes pleases God and bestows wisdom. Some people believe that on the day of Basant Panchami, the Sun is Uttarayan, due to which its color turns yellow.
It is believed that, like the sun removes darkness and illuminates it, in the same way, the yellow color also fills us with goodness by removing the evil that resides inside us. On the day of Basant Panchami, yellow-colored flowers are also offered to Mother Saraswati. That’s why yellow color is important on this day.
Importance of Basant Panchami: Why do we cook yellow food?
Yellow-colored food is considered to be special on this day. It is believed that on this day, mother Saraswati is offered sweet yellow rice. Due to this mother, Saraswati is pleased. Apart from this, people also prepare Kadhi rice and take it themselves after offering it to Mother Saraswati.
