Hothur foundation was founded by business tycoon Hothur Shadab Wahab for uplifting the economically backward and providing the challenged with educational, medical and mental support. Today, it also works towards the rehabilitation and constructive needs of acid attack survivors, and exposing and protecting the exploited, while exacerbating pre-existing inequalities, especially gender inequality. As they extend towards rehabilitation and counselling for survivors, any form of aid related to hunger, poverty, medical care and support are provided for all.
Hothur Shadab Wahab always had a vision that overlooked a world with equal rights, which contributes to an equal life and opportunity for all. Through a vigorous step by step process his initiatives were categorically set to aid the financially troubled and culturally vulnerable groups of people. While providing his services and resources towards programmatic areas such as education, safety and protection, health and nutrition and participation, he has now also added maternity care in his charitable work and there are more initiatives to come.
With years of experiences that highlight the untold stories of the exploited, Wahab believes that it’s usually the poor and discriminated who are paying the price of life in this world. Making his main goal and focus to change that, giving back has become a tradition conscientiously followed in the Hothur family.
Championing the cause of women empowerment, currently, the foundation is sheltering suffering women and their children in safe homes, while also helping them get back to a normal life by providing psychological counselling, rehabilitative therapy, financial aid and medical treatment. They also extend their support and help to women who have encountered acid attacks, an extreme form of gender-based violence.
Wahab sure does make the most use of his resources to deliver back to the world. Even though he can lead a lavish lifestyle on his own, his aim is to create a world that is equal for all and Hothur Foundation is leading the nation towards that goal one step at a time.
