Holi 2023: One of the most well-liked snacks in India is dhokla. It is a traditional Gujarati meal that is prepared by steaming a fermented batter. Dhokla was first mentioned in Jain literature in the 11th century when it is referred to as Dukkia. In the 16th-century Gujarati literature Varanaka Samuchaya, the word “dhokla” was first used in a direct context. Rice and split chickpeas are used to make the batter for dhoklas. 

Khaman, another Gujarati cuisine, and dhokla are quite similar. The primary distinction between the two is that Khaman is typically prepared from chickpea gramme and appears yellow, while Dhokla is formed of batter produced from rice gramme and is white. In other regions of the country, khaman is a very well-liked meal, however, it is frequently erroneously referred to as dhokla.

1. Fusion Poha Dhokla

Poha Dhokla is a special dish made of flattened rice called poha, semolina, yoghurt, and spices. It makes a delectable teatime snack and party appetiser.

2. Spinach Dhokla

Because spinach contains a lot of iron, spinach dhokla can be a tasty and healthy addition to your diet. A tasty starter is a dhokla. This dish can be prepared and served for special events like game nights or cat parties.
