Ingredients
- For the Filling: 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 cup julienned carrots
- 1 cup sliced bell peppers
- 1 cup bean sprouts (optional)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: cooked noodles for added texture
- For the Wrappers: Spring roll wrappers or egg roll wrappers
- Cornstarch mixed with water (for sealing)
- For Cooking: Vegetable oil for brushing
Step By Step Guide
Prepare The Filling
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat, add onions and sauté until translucent. Mix in shredded cabbage, julienned carrots, and bell peppers cook for about 3-5 minutes until softened. Stir in soy sauce and vinegar and season with salt and pepper. If using noodles, mix them in at this stage. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Assemble The Spring Rolls
Lay a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface in a diamond shape with one corner facing you. Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling in the centre. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll up tightly to seal. Use the cornstarch mixture to help seal the edges if necessary.
Prepare For Air Frying
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Brush each spring roll lightly with vegetable oil on all sides.
Cook The Spring Rolls
Place the spring rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Air fry for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking for even crispiness.
Serve
Once golden brown and crispy, remove from the air fryer. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
