How to
Clean and sanitise all of the tools and containers you’ll be using to set up your workplace.
Choose the lipstick colour you want, then gather the necessary colouring agents. A popular option for natural colourants is mica powder.
Use a microwave-safe container or set up a double boiler. To prevent overheating the ingredients while using a microwave, utilise brief heating bursts.
Measure and combine the following ingredients in your double boiler or microwave-safe container:
1 part beeswax or soy wax (e.g., 1 tablespoon)
1 part coconut oil or almond oil (e.g., 1 tablespoon)
1 part shea butter or cocoa butter (e.g., 1 tablespoon)
Depending on how many lipsticks you plan to produce, adjust the numbers. For testing, you might start with tiny amounts.
Stirring occasionally, gently heat the mixture in a double boiler or the microwave until all the ingredients have melted together.
Remove the mixture from the heat source as soon as it has melted completely. Be careful since it can be hot.
Add cosmetic-grade colouring agents, like mica powders or a few drops of food colouring, if desired. Start with a little and progressively add more until you have the colour you want. To evenly spread the colourants, thoroughly stir.
In small containers or lipstick tubes, carefully pour the mixture. To prevent spills, use a dropper or a tiny funnel. For the lipstick to settle, leave a tiny gap at the top.
Allow the lipstick to totally cool and set. To hasten the process, put the containers in the refrigerator.
Cap the tubes or containers after the lipstick has dried and remove any extra substance from the edges.
Now that your homemade lipstick is finished, use it! Using a lip brush or directly from the tube, apply it to your lips.
