New Delhi: Diwali festival is just around the corner and everyone is too excited for this day. We all know that this festival is one of the most awaited Hindu festivals in India. On this day, people clean their houses and welcome Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. According to Indian traditions, people pray for happiness and wealth in their homes. For this occasion, cleaning is essential as beautifully decorating the house to welcome the gods.
To keep your stress low, we have combined the list of the dos and don’ts which everyone should keep in mind while cleaning for the festival.
1. Make a checklist
First thing first, you should prepare a list of the items that can be removed from the house, and locations that need more attention, and believe it once you cross each item from the list, you will feel motivated.
2. Clean room by room
Don’t try to cover all the space in one day because it can cause a problem for you only. Instead, try to cover one room in a day, this will help you to spare time for other things too.
3. Start with a closet
The very first thing you should start with is cleaning the closet properly and sorting everything. This time will be a perfect time to rearrange your closet and keep your belongings in the proper place.
4. Clean windows and grills
After cleaning the room, go for all windows and grills because all the dust collects in the windows. Before closing them until the next spring, clean them thoroughly.
5. Clean the Kitchen
This place is very important to clean properly because all the puja preparation and sweets will be prepared there. While cleaning the kitchen go for chimneys, kitchen tiles, racks and boxes. Don’t forget to remove all the unnecessary items.
6. Don’t start with floors
While cleaning the house, always remember not to start with the floor because when you will clean roof and ceiling fixtures, such as lights and fans, then all the dust will fall on the floors.
