Chokha Recipe: Green peas are easily available in the winter season. Then you make its vegetable or something else, its taste is different. In such a situation, if we include it in our daily dishes then what is the point? Eating in winter also increases the enjoyment of things manifold. In such a situation, if you also want to try an easy recipe made of green peas, then this article can be useful for you. Prepare delicious potato peas chokha in just 5 minutes. You can enhance the taste of this chokha even more with litti.

How to Make

  • First of all, heat oil in a pan and add cumin, mustard seeds, curry leaves along with finely chopped green chilies. When this tempering is ready, add green peas to it.
  • Cover and cook the peas for 3 minutes. As soon as Matar (Green Peas Idli) starts cooking, add finely chopped tomatoes to it and cook it covered again.
  • After the tomatoes are cooked well, add salt, red chili and spices of your choice.
  • Mash the potatoes well and add to the pan and mix well. Mix it in such a way that the whole masala and peas, potatoes along with tomatoes are also mixed.
  • Cover and cook the potatoes in the pan on low flame for 2 minutes and after 2 minutes turn off the gas.
  • Serve it hot and garnish it with green coriander. Tasty chokha is ready, relish it with litti or eat it with roti.

Ingredients to make Aloo Matar Chokha

  • Green peas – 1 cup
  • Boiled Potatoes – 3
  • Finely chopped tomatoes – half cup
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 5-6
  • salt – as per taste
  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Green coriander – 1 tbsp
  • Green chili – 1

Let the potatoes cook covered on low flame for 2 minutes and after 2 minutes turn off the gas.

Serve it hot and garnish it with green coriander. Tasty Chokha is ready, now enjoy it with your family.
