Ingredients

  • 2 medium Tomatoes (pureed or finely chopped)

  • 1 sliced Capsicum (bell pepper)

  • Turmeric

  • 200g of sliced Musrooms

  • 2 tbsp of desi ghee or oil

  • 1 Onion (sliced)

  • 1.5 tsp (or use a mix of coriander

  • red chili

  • cumin)

  • Fresh coriander (for garnish)

  • 1 tbsp of Ginger-garlic paste

  • Salt to taste

  • Garam Masala

Step By Step Guide

Make The Veggies Ready

First, you have to cut the onions, capsicum, and mushrooms into small and thin slices. Rinse thoroughly.

Toss The Onions

Take a non-stick pan and heat desi ghee or vegetable oil over a medium-low flame. Now add the ginger-garlic paste and toss the onion slices and cook for about 1-2 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

Spices And Tomatoes

In the next step, mix in aromatic spices like kadai masala, salt, turmeric, and pureed or chopped tomatoes and cook until the oil starts separating from the pan and the texture of the masala turns thick.

Prepare The Mushrooms

Following on to the next step, now add the thin sliced mushrooms to the mixture and keep stirring until it absorbs the masala flavours. Cook on a medium-low heat for another 5-7 minutes.

Saute The Capsicum And Add Garam Masala

Once the ingredients are well combined, you can now add the garam masala and saute the sliced capsicum in the pan nearly for about-2 minutes.

Garnish And Serve

Your authentic kadai mushroom recipe is now ready to serve. Garnish the dish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or chapati. Enjoy!
