APJ Abdul Kalam Birth Anniversary: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, popularly known as the Missile Man of India, was an Indian aerospace scientist who served as the 11th president of India from 2002 to 2007. Widely referred to as the ‘People’s President’, Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931 in a Muslim family in Tamil Nadu’s Rameswaram, where he studied physics and aerospace engineering.
