Oats Upma Recipe: Ingredients
- Quick Cooking Rolled Oats (2 cups)
- Urad Dal (1 tsp)
- Finely chopped onions (2 cups)
- Finely chopped carrots (1/4 cup)
- Green peas (1/4 cup)
- Sugar (1 tsp)
- Oil (3 tbsp)
- Mustard (1 tsp)
- Turmeric Powder (1 tsp)
- Curry leaves
- Green chilli
- Kashmiri Red Chilli
- Salt to taste
Recipe
- To begin making Oats Upma, first, place a non-stick pan on the gas. Now put 1 spoon of oil in it and heat it. After this, add oats and a pinch of turmeric powder. Cook the oats till they turn golden in colour. Now take out the oats on a plate and keep them aside.
- Now heat two spoons of oil in the same pan. Add mustard to it, and then add urad dal as well. After this, add dry red chillies, curry leaves and green chillies and cook on low flame for two minutes. After this, add onion and fry for two minutes. When it becomes light pink, add all the vegetables like carrots, green tomatoes or whatever you like. After this, add some turmeric powder and cook for some time.
- Now you have to put the oats kept on the side in it. Along with this, mix some sugar and salt and cook in light gas. Keep in mind that you have to keep running it continuously. Add some hot water to it, cover it and cook on low flame for about 6 minutes. In this way, oats, and upma will be prepared. You can serve garnished with green coriander.
