New Delhi: The central government is trying to provide relief to the poor through various schemes during the ongoing nationwide coronavirus lockdown.
The government is also helping people through Ujjwala and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme which has a relief package of Rs 1.7 lakh crore.
In another scheme, the government is transferring money to the farmers’ accounts under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM- Kisan) scheme. Amid the coronavirus lockdown, the government has allocated Rs 9,826 crore to 4.91 crore farmer families under the PM-Kisan scheme.
4.91 crore farmers to benefit in coronavirus lockdown
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar announced scheme this on Sunday.
“Due to the Corona crisis in the country, 4.91 crore farmers have benefited during the lockdown period under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Rs 9,826 crore has been released,” Tomar announced on Twitter.
He added that this amount has been released from March 24 to 3 April. Tomar shared a photo with this tweet, in which information about this allocation was given.
