Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s transparent and investment-driven excise policy has played a pivotal role in strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s revenue system by 2025.
A sharp rise in ethanol production and sales has not only boosted industrial activity but also positioned the state among the leading ethanol producers in the country.
The record growth in production, sales, and investment proposals clearly indicates that the state’s economy is entering a new phase of expansion.
By November 2025, Uttar Pradesh produced an impressive 182 crore litres of ethanol, its highest output to date. Structural reforms, technological advancements, and a business-friendly environment under the Yogi government have fueled rapid growth in the liquor, beer, wine, and alcohol-based industries.
The sale of 105.25 crore litres of ethanol within the state and 40.96 crore litres outside it has firmly established Uttar Pradesh as a dependable ethanol supply hub. This progress has strengthened industries and stimulated economic activity, especially in rural areas.
Investors ranging from major corporate groups to mid-sized enterprises are actively expanding their projects in the alcohol-based sector in Uttar Pradesh. According to Excise Commissioner Dr Adarsh Singh, 125 agreements have been signed so far, with investments worth ₹30735 crore underway.
Additionally, 43 ready-to-launch projects have already received land allotments, involving investments of ₹6,898.88 crore. Currently, 19 projects under Invest UP, amounting to over ₹2,900 crore, are in progress, generating more than 4,800 jobs. Another 28 projects are underway outside MoU frameworks, with total investments of ₹2,752 crore.
Overall, investment proposals in the excise sector are expected to create more than 9,940 employment opportunities. This reflects the Yogi government’s approach of directly linking industrial growth with job creation. These initiatives will offer better opportunities to local youth within the state while expanding the industrial base.
The strong performance of Uttar Pradesh’s excise policy is a clear reflection of the CM Yogi Adityanath government’s economic vision, effective revenue management, and unwavering commitment to industrial development.
