Acharya Balkrishna says that in Ayurveda, figs are considered extremely beneficial. They are highly nutritious and enhance energy. Figs are highly beneficial for people who are thin, weak, or underweight.
How to eat figs to increase weight
-Soak 3–4 dried figs in water at night. In the morning,chew these figs, and slowly eat them.
-Fresh figs can also be eaten and there is no need to soak them. A person can consume figs with fruits at breakfast or along with sprouted lentils or chickpeas.
Acharya Balkrishna explains that figs are beneficial in cases of physical weakness, nerve weakness, and sexual weakness. Figs can also be consumed by boiling in milk at night and 3-4 figs can be consumed which are beneficial.
Good for Heart Health
Acharya Balkrishna says that figs are also beneficial for heart patients. Figs have quality to help in keeping low blood pressure. To maintain heart health, Acharya suggests eating dried figs with milk.
Beneficial for Digestion Too
The fruit also helps in maintaining good digestive health. Although figs are generally considered “heating,” in Ayurveda their nature is described as cooling. If fig is eaten without soaking, it may produce heat in the body. However, when they are soaked, their effects become cooling.

Drink Fig Decoction for Cough
To relieve cough, a fig decoction (Anjeer Kadha) is very beneficial.
To make the decoction, take one dried fig, a little licorice (mulethi), and 3–4 basil leaves, and boil them together in water.
This decoction gives comfort to the throat and it helps in relieving cough.
Acharya Balkrishna says that it can be given to children, adults, and the elderly.

Acharya Balkrishna also adds that people usually avoid dry fruits during respiratory issues. However, those suffering from breathing difficulties can consume figs without any problem.
