Under the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has achieved a significant breakthrough in the education sector. The government recognises the importance of education to uplift a state and build a civilised society. From upgrading the primary education to modernizing infrastructure, The UP Government is steadfast in creating a safe and advanced environment for the students.
CM Yogi-led government is committed to digitalizing the urban government schools by establishing over 2,700 smart classrooms across the state under several flagship schemes. This plan aims to not only enhance the quality of education but also enhance the teaching quality and expand access for students, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Additionally, the new education policy in Uttar Pradesh aims to focus on modernization and bridging the gap of the education divide, and to make sure every child gets equal access to good education. The state has made major improvements in higher education, too, giving students more chances to grow academically and professionally.
According to the UP Government, they took the initiative to establish the Mahatma Buddha Agricultural and Technological University in Kushinagar district to boost Eastern UP’s Development and to open gates for young people in rural areas to get access to quality higher education. Uttar Pradesh blends age-old agricultural knowledge with modern technology to empower its youth and boost rural development through an integrated model connecting education, skill-building, and employment.
Moreover, the UP Government has initiated schemes for students by offering scholarships under the Navratri Scholarship Disbursement Ceremony, which was held on 26th September 2025. Nearly ₹89.96 crore was directly transferred to about 3.97 lakh students, demonstrating the government’s strong commitment to empowering youth through education.
Giving out free uniforms under the Samagra Shiksha was a step ahead in initiating positive enrolment in schools. Under this scheme, Uttar Pradesh provides ₹600 through DBT to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of parents or guardians so they can purchase two sets of uniforms for all girls (including KGBV students) and for boys and girls from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and BPL families studying in Classes 1 to 8 in Primary, Upper Primary, and Government schools under the Department of Basic Education.
Introducing digital learning tools. The Uttar Pradesh government has moved toward modernizing education by implementing ICT-based K–12 digital content in government schools under the state’s High School and Intermediate Education Board. This initiative is designed to upgrade conventional classrooms into smart, tech-enabled learning spaces, ensuring students benefit from high-quality, digital-first education. This mirrors the state’s focus on empowering young minds in accordance with education. These efforts aim to remove obstacles and promote learning across all stages, creating a strong base for long-term development.
